Hi There,

I work for Soccer Sight which is a Royal National Institute of Blind people lead project and I am looking to recruit young people to volunteer for us. Soccer Sight provides a commentary service for blind and partially sighted fans at a number of professional football clubs in England and in your area we are working with Norwich City and Ipswich Town FC's. The commentary is provided by trained volunteers who via specialist equipment are able to give an 'on the ball' description of the action on and off the pitch.

We also provide a 'Match Buddy' service for blind and partially sighted fans at our partner clubs. Match Buddies are trained in visual awareness and how to guide a blind/partially sighted person. The buddy will meet users of the scheme at an agreed venue/time, guide/escort them to their seat and around the stadium and in general befriend another football fan, enjoy the match together and have fun!

The benefits of volunteering are great :

* Training

* Free entry to Norwich City and/or Ipswich Town home games

* Expenses paid

* Meeting new people and gaining new skills

* Experience of working with people who are sometimes at a disadvantage

As I said I am looking for young people aged 16 - 25 who might be interested in volunteering for a few hours every other Saturday (and odd week night) during the football season. I would be most grateful if you could let your players know about Soccer Sight and if interested but them in touch with me. I attach a copy of our flyer for your information. I am happy to send you copies of this or even come along http://soccer-sight.blogspot.com/ and tell you more about the project.

I also include a couple of links showing what we do.
